FEAR
We all feel it today, some a lot,
others a little.
Where does fear come from?
It comes from our hunter-gatherer
past:
A rustle in the glade, you better be
ready to fade fast
Fear helps us survive
But too much of it can make our
health dive
To Jairus Our Lord said 'Fear
Not' for I am with you
Their march to Jairus' home was interrupted
by the women with the flow
Who overcame all her fear to touch
the helm and was aglow
Fear befuddles our mind
Makes us complicit in ‘its’ crimes
For it loves nothing in these times
But for us to abandon the
divine
As with Christ the Son of God
He tried to drive a wedge in the
celestial accord
By tempting Christ to yield
To hedonism – Lust of the Body
To Egoism – Pride of Life
To Materialism – Lust of the Eyes
Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit foiled
its every deceitful move
Preferred Deferment to Gratification
of Pounding Hunger
Exercised Discernment to Impulsive
Display of Bluster
Expressed Disdain for Earthly Power
and Wealth Vulgar
Jesus has led the way that we His
disciples shall
Fear not, but trust, for in that
we gain grace and avoid the FALL.
