Tata Capital inks MoU with Canada's Groupe Aeroplan

MUMBAI: Tata Capital has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a joint venture company with Groupe Aeroplan Inc, a Canada-based loyalty marketing firm, to unveil a multi-party coalition loyalty programme in India.
Mr Praveen P Kadle, Managing Dircetor of Tata Capital, said, “Indian consumerism has evolved manifold over the last decade and offers significant potential for a coalition loyalty programme. Realising this potential requires an established global player which has the necessary expertise and proven track-record in managing successful loyalty programmes across geographies.”
This loyalty programme will be similar to Nectar, which is Groupe Aeroplan’s coalition loyalty program in UK and Italy. This programme has the initial objectives of 'Empower, which is India’s first multi-brand coalition loyalty program. It was unveiled by Tata Sons in 2006.
Moreover, Groupe Aeroplan is in active discussions with few companies within and outside the Tata Group, to join its loyalty programme.
