Supply chain case studies are an excellent source of information and inspiration as they recount how your peers in supply chain overcame challenges and turned them into opportunities. This month we have selected three cases that we feel would be of interest and hope that you do too.

The Kimberly-Clark Supply Chain Story

Kimberly Clark Australia (KCA) embarked on a project to improve the footprint, velocity, efficiency and service capability of its finished goods supply chain. In order to accomplish this, the scope of their project was to build brand new, highly automated central distribution systems in Sydney and Millicent, Australia, and high velocity regional distribution centres in Sydney and Adelaide, as well as to revamp other existing facilities. Nike Manufacturing: How They do Business

In Nike’s Sustainability Report, read about their plan for building a sustainable supply chain, their manufacturing vision, along with the introduction of the Manufacturing Index, a new tool to judge the sustainability performance of its factories around the world in a consistent way. The index ranks labour and environmental performance, along with traditional supply chain measures of quality, cost and on-time delivery.
