The Catholic church has given its blessing (pun very much intended) to a confessional application for the iPhone. The now app is not meant to replace confessional altogether, but instead to guide the penitent through the sacrament, including confessing and tracking their sins, and then to encourage them to see a priest for absolution. This application is a part of the Church’s larger attempt to embrace New Media. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to confess… 4give me Father 4 I hav sinned…
