Reflections - At Lazarus' Tomb

At Lazarus' Tomb

The Lord stood before Lazarus' tomb
In one such he would lie very soon
He asked the men to roll the stone
Did his disciple as alleged or an angel rolled his own
He called out to Lazarus who stepped forth wrapped and bound
At Jesus' tomb only the wrappings and the cloth lay folded to astound
Mary who wiped Jesus' feet with tears was summoned to Jesus' side
Her sorrow brought grief to Jesus for He had delayed when her brother died
Jesus wept and hurried to bring Lazarus to life
Knowing he too will be entombed awaiting His Father's call to rise
Lazarus was restored to Martha and Mary for many the days at Bethany He did abide
As He has been restored to his faithful for all eternity to be at their side.
